The Branches hold their own events, but the Society has one a year.  This is the National Convention, which is usually held every October at The Clarendon Suites, Hagley Road, Birmingham. (England).    There are stalls, which have a lot of memorabilia, C.Ds, D.V.Ds. etc.  The A.G.M. takes place and is followed by a 3-hour Concert in the afternoon usually from 3.45pm.    Each year we have a different well orchestrated Band and vocalist.

WELCOME  to the Leeds Branch page.  Our Branch was formed in 1976 and over the years we have met at various venues around the city.  We have now found a home at the Cross Gates Recreational Club, Poplar Avenue (off Austhorpe Road), Leeds LS15 8EB where we meet on the second Sunday of each month in the first floor function room.

The dates and times of forthcoming meetings are as follows:]
13 April commencing at 7:30 pm
11 May 2014 commencing at 7:30 pm
8 June 2014 commencing at 7:30 pm
13 July 2014 commencing at 7:30 pm
Admission is only £2.50 and includes tea or coffee and biscuits.  Drinks can also be purchased from the bar on the ground floor.  The Club has excellent parking facilities and is easy to find.

We are a friendly group, so why not come along to one of our meetings and, maybe, meet old friends, make new ones and listen to the very best in popular music.

The programmes at our last afternoon meeting of the season were presented by Alan Grey and Derek Street. Alan was a real "star" with his programme "Heavenly Bodies" which included tracks by singers not normally heard at our meetings - David Bowie, Mamas and the Papas, Teatro, Josh Grogan and Justin Hayward. Not only did Alan produce the promised bananas but Mars bars too! After a very short AGM. Derek Streets programme "Ask Me Another" posed plenty of questions but no answers. Fortunately our quiz master was Mr Sinatra and the questions - "What is this thing called love"; "How About You"; "How Deep is the Ocean" etc. Heavenly programmes from both presenters.

On 12 April the meeting will start at 7:30 pm and the good news is that admission will be FREE. I am expecting a bright and breezy programme from Jean Day and I shall be disappointed if we do not hear from Bobby Darin. Laurie Stead will present the Sinatra spot. Laurie's programmes are always different but always amazing with recording quality second to none. If you have not yet been to one of our meetings why not come along next month for FREE.

Why not accept this warm invitation to come along and join us – we look forward to seeing you.
If you would like any further information, please call Glenys Day on 0113 2867341.
