The Branches hold their own events, but the Society has one a year.  This is the National Convention, which is usually held every October at The Clarendon Suites, Hagley Road, Birmingham. (England).    There are stalls, which have a lot of memorabilia, C.Ds, D.V.Ds. etc.  The A.G.M. takes place and is followed by a 3-hour Concert in the afternoon usually from 3.45pm.    Each year we have a different well orchestrated Band and vocalist.

Leeds

WELCOME  to the Leeds Branch page.  Our Branch was formed in 1976 and over the years we have met at various venues around the city.  We have now found a home at the Cross Gates Recreational Club, Poplar Avenue (off Austhorpe Road), Leeds LS15 8EB where we meet on the second Sunday of each month in the first floor function room.

Our January meeting got the year off to a good start with Bob Nisbet\\\'s programme One Summer based on Bill Bryson\\\'s book about the Summer of 1927 in the USA. Great music and witty commentary with Bob wryly summing up that, basically, the world never changes. Colin Day provided the Sinatra programme which took the form of a romantic love story set to music. Frank was our leading man with Anne Murray as the love interest. Unfortunately, Frank switched his affections and ended up with Keely Smith! The February meeting will see our Programme Organiser, Aidan, up for the first programme and Chairman Ted following on with the Sinatra spot. The dates and times of forthcoming meetings are as follows:]
8 February 2015 commencing at 2:00 pm
8 March 2015 commencing at 2:00 pm
12 April 2015 commencing at 19:30 pm
10 May 2015 commencing at 19:30 admission by ticket only to this meeting. pm
Admission is only £2.50 and includes tea or coffee and biscuits.  Drinks can also be purchased from the bar on the ground floor.  The Club has excellent parking facilities and is easy to find.

We are a friendly group, so why not come along to one of our meetings and, maybe, meet old friends, make new ones and listen to the very best in popular music.

Why not accept this warm invitation to come along and join us – we look forward to seeing you.
If you would like any further information, please call Glenys Day on 0113 2867341.
